DE-STRESSING IS KEY TO A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE

Remembering to de-stress throughout our busy lives is what many of us do not put in much effort into. De-stressing is so important because it affects your health in the long-term. Eliminating stress that has been built up over time can clear the mind and will allow your body to work more efficiently.

There are many ways individuals can destress. It could be following a relaxation technique or even doing something you enjoy will help take stress off your head. Managing stress will give you the benefit of elimination of unnecessary energy drain, more focus and improved brain functions and a more stabilized heart rate.

De-stressing frequently will also give you more energy at daytime and peaceful sleep at night, allowing you to make the best of your health. It is important to de-stress on a regular basis to maintain a healthy wellbeing of the body and mind.

De-stressing releases chemicals called endorphins, these chemicals trigger positive feelings in the body, allowing you to be happier. Endorphins are natural pain relievers and stress busters produced by the brain. Exercising for longer than 15 minutes, indulging in comfort food or sniffing vanilla and lavender is a good way to trigger the release of endorphins. Endorphins help balance stress levels within the mind, which is why it is healthy to de-stress.

Laughing more often is also a way to release endorphins. Laughter is a natural form of exercise that lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormone levels, improves cardiac health, prevents cancer (by regulating cell growth) and enhances mood.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle generally is a good way to manage stress. Balancing stress levels by de-stressing will result in a long term benefit of a longer and happier life.
